Reflections
on the Exhibition of Paolo Monti’s Art at the University of Konstanz

As someone who has had the
good fortune to know this artist for several years and observe him
often when he is planning and composing his pieces or preparing his
next exhibition, I am always intrigued by Paolo Monti’s ability to
spark interest of so many people to participate with him in the
realization of his artistic projects. |
This show is typical of Paolo Monti’s ability to attract diverse groups and interest growing numbers of
people to work with him.
Among Paolo Monti’s techniques
is his use of scientific discoveries and tools as vehicles to produce and
empower his work. This allows him to express very important ideals. One in
particular I find extremely interesting in our conversations is the idea that:
it is possible to go beyond. I find in his works excellent examples of his
search to go beyond. He renders the invisible visible capturing images we
normally cannot see.
Another striking aspect of
Paolo Monti is his continuing quest to find innovative ways to produce his
works. This permits him to transform stunning ideas into art. It is as if Paolo
Monti has laid down a highway of 100,000 miles of creativity. At each of his
exhibitions he directs us off the highway and while the road continues the
scenery changes as we encounter the works he is showing. The show at the
University of Konstanz corresponds to another exit on the highway.
